QUIET MORNINGS AT CHRIST MEMORIAL
A Quiet Morning at Christ Memorial is a mini-spiritual retreat. Our 3-hour silent retreats begin 9:00 AM, with a Taize-style prayer service, followed by an instruction and practice, and we end with a healthy lunch. There is time built into the morning for meditation, journaling or labyrinth walks.
Saturday, October 19, 2019 - Introduction to Soul Collage with Maggie Lea, licensed Educational & Clinical Psychologist, artist and SoulCollage® practitioner will share how Soul Collage has assisted her in the journey of self-discovery. We will learn how to create our own “deck of cards” - each collage card representing one aspect of our personality or our Soul. There will be time for several readings of our cards to demonstrate how Soul Collage can provide a guidance aspect to our deeper questions of life. All materials are provided. Suggested faith offering: $10
Saturday, November 30, 2019 - My Soul Cries Out! Pastor Gae leads whis retreat as we begin the Season of Advent. Advent is a time to hope, dream, imagine and expect new beginnings within ourselves and our world. We’ll be using as our guide for this year’s Advent Retreat the joy filled folk tune, The Canticle of the Turning. Begin this year’s Advent with time to meditate on the lyrics, pray, hear from scripture, and maybe create a poem, a song, a collage or a drawing of your own. Pastor Gae is a certified Spiritual Director in the Jungian tradition and a priest at Christ Memorial.
COMING IN 2020: (Dates TBA)
Introduction to Dream Work - Why were dreams taken so seriously in scripture? Perhaps because they had something important to say! We will learn why we should pay attention to our dreams, some techniques to remembering dreams, and then how to “work a dream”. We’ll also experience how a dream “group” works.
Creating My Spiritual Biography - A spiritual autobiography is a story of our personal journey with God. It recalls the memorable times and events of life, the joys and struggles, and connects them with God’s presence. It also looks at the space in between and reflects on any distractions, significant dreams or inner restlessness. We’ll finish with some time to write an intention for our future.
