WORSHIPING ONLINE DURING THE PANDEMIC

In the age of COVID-19 and stay-at-home mandates, churches around the world have turned to online worshiping, including Christ Memorial!  Sunday services, Bible Study and Centering Prayer have all gone online with ZOOM so that we can continue to worship and grow in our spiritual journeys.  Here is a  video clip of our Easter blessing by Pastor Gae with music by Chanterelle and our church 'ohana from near and far!

We also share a Holy Week and Easter video of churches around the Diocese celebrating online... see if you can spot Pastor Gae and Chanterelle in it!
HOLY WEEK & EASTER IN THE DIOCESE
Our 8:00 am worship service  is traditional Rite I, found in the Book of Common Prayer.  Music  includes our favorite hymns led by Dr.  Michael Foley on organ.

Our 9:30 am worship service is more contemporary, Rite II or Rite III.  Music is blended and includes our favorite hymns from both Episcopal and Hawaiian traditions, along with more contemporary Christian music.  Antal "Tony" Gaspar leads our music team.

Holy Communion is celebrated at both Sunday services.

If you are interested in joining our worship team (Altar Guild, Acolytes, Greeters/Ushers, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Hospitality) or our music team, contact the church office for more information or visit our Volunteer page HERE.

ANNUAL MEETING 2020 RECAP
Christ Memorial held its Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 26, 2020, in the Parish Hall.  Members were treated to a delicious lunch by the Fellowship team of Margaret, Lorraine and Judy.  Pastor Gae highlighted the accomplishments in 2019, including an increased attendance by 10%, Sunday school success, completion and dedication of the Columbarium, construction of the labyrinth, and a record year of donations and sales at our Thrift Shop!

We gave thanks to all those who served faithfully, with special recognition to David Akana, who has been the Bishopʻs Warden for the past 7 years. His selfless leadership helped see Christ Memorial through some tough transitions, while working hard to care for the buildings and grounds.  We welcomed new leaders to the Bishopʻs Committee: Rebecca Hellum (Bishopʻs Warden), Suzanne Kobayashi (Future Planning/Vicarage), Sandy Moran (Outreach) and our new Treasurer, Tom Blankley (non-voting).

Christ Memorial is an amazing little church. Every day, you can see a stream of tourists stopping by, taking photos, walking the burial grounds and the labyrinth, and coming into the sanctuary to pray. We are blessed to have committed church members who love and care for our property. And we are blessed with Shared Blessings volunteers who are committed to providing an amazing shopping experience that assists in funding the mission and ministries of our church.

2019 EASTER APPEAL

The holiest time of the year for Christians has arrived, and as we worship through the Season of Easter (Eastertide) that continues for 50 days after Easter, we hope that you have had a chance to read the Easter Appeal letter from Pastor Gae that can be viewed HERE.  To make a donation, click on the Donate icon above and complete your transaction through our secure church Paypal account or, if you prefer, please mail a check to our address shown at the bottom of this page.

NA KAMALEI ("BELOVED CHILDREN") PROGRAM
All keiki (children) are encouraged to attend our 9:30 AM worship service. Pastor Gae will begin this service with a short keiki lesson. Children's choir meets for practice after worship, while parents enjoy refreshments. To learn more about our keiki lesson series, visit our Children & Youth page.

HULA DURING WORSHIP
One of our talented youth church members performed a lovely hula to a traditional Hawaiian melody, accompanied by our music lead, Craig Saupe (below).  Such a joy to be blessed with this beauty during sunday worship services! (note: video file may take a little time to load but is worth the wait!)
