Christ Memorial sponsors a community thrift shop that aids our neighbors and many island visitors. The store features a wide variety of gently used items that include clothing, household goods and decorations, art, jewelry, toys, furniture, equipment, linens, appliances, and so much more! Proceeds helps support the church's outreach programs and ministries.
In August of 2013, Helen Mitsui was honored for her work as the manager of the store where she has selflessly volunteered her time and energy for over 30 years. The name of the thrift shop now bears her name, The Helen Mitsui Shared Blessings Thrift Shop. (You can read a feature article about her in the Garden Island News HERE.)
Donations are welcome when the shop is open.
Special Note: We are unable to recycle your e-waste. For your non-working television, computer, printer, and other electronic waste, please note:
Kauai County has established a new "eWaste" recycling center at Puhi. Beginning June 1, 2016, electronic waste can be delivered for recycling to the Puhi Metals Recycling Center. More information: Puhi Metals, 245-6919, or County Recycling Office, 241-4841.
But wait! Check this out. . .save a drive to Puhi! All Saints Church in Kapaa collects your eWaste every second Saturday of the month at their famous community Market and Swap Meet, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. All Saints volunteers take the e waste to Puhi. (Thanks, Bill Caldwell, for this important note.)
