Shared Blessing Thrift Shop Kauai

Christ Memorial sponsors the Helen Mitsui Shared Blessing Thrift Shop, often called the “best shopping” on the north shore! Our shop serves our neighbors and many island visitors with supplies and souvenirs. The store features a wide variety of gently used and new items.

Most popular items include clothing, linens, books, household goods and home decor. Merchandise is replenished daily and moves quickly due to affordable prices. Proceeds support the church's outreach programs and ministries.

DONATION GUIDELINES
  • Donations welcome only during open hours. Please do not leave donations on the porch.  Church members may now bring donations to Sunday services!  See Sunday Collection Bin below.
  • Drive to the back of the building for unloading assistance and receipts.
  • Large donations of furniture, appliances, TVs, electronics, and mattresses are not accepted.
E-WASTE
We are unable to recycle your e-waste.  Your non-working television, computer, printer, and other electronic waste can be delivered for recycling to the Puhi Metals Recycling Center. More information:  Puhi Metals, 245-6919, or County Recycling Office, 241-4841.
Meet Aunty Helen!
Helen Mitsui has managed Shared Blessings for more than 30 years and was honored in 2013 for her dedication with the renaming of the shop to bear her name: The Helen Mitsui Shared Blessings Thrift Shop. You can read a feature article about her in the Garden Island News HERE.

VOLUNTEER WITH US

Volunteers are invaluable to serving our community. Our goal is to reuse, repurpose and recycle goods — keeping as much as possible out of landfill — while providing our community with a welcoming shopping experience and access to reasonably priced, quality merchandise.

Here are ways you can help:
• Greeters welcome shoppers and monitor for safety guidelines.
• Customer Care Givers help shoppers to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
• Merchandisers organize departments, restock the shop and display retail goods.
• Philanthropy distributes merchandise to organizations in need.
• Donation Intakers receive, sort and process donations.
• Work-from-Home volunteers help prepare merchandise for sale.

Volunteer shifts are a 2-4 hour commitment for a minimum of one day per week.

If you would like to learn more about volunteering at Shared Blessings, please send an email to kilaueachristmemorial@gmail.com.

Sunday Collection Bin!

Fill the red bin!  Donations for the Thrift Store are now being accepted before and after Sunday services at 8:00 am.

Best practice tip: keep a bag or box by the door, and make it a good habit to bring your donations weekly, rather than let them pile up.
